To the Ancient Egyptians, the heart was the doorway home.
Ancient Egyptian spiritual enlightenment centered on achieving balance and moral purity, captured in the concept of the Weighing of the Heart ceremony. The goal was to lead a virtuous life so that, upon judgment in the afterlife, the heart (ib) was as light as the feather of truth (Ma'at).
